“With the effects of the outbreak being felt more each day, our primary concern and area of focus is and has been on the health and safety of our associates, our customers and our communities,” J.C. Penney CEO, Jill Soltau, announced in a statement. “We know this is a critical, unprecedented time and our thoughts are with those who have been impacted.”
The scheduled reopening (for the time being) is April 2, however the press release did state that the company will be reevaluating the situation as it unfolds to determine what its next step will be.
In the meantime, the company encourages customers to continue to shop on its website or app.
