Yes, it happened.
Ulta Beauty, Sephora, and Benefit have decided to close their stores amid this Coronavirus pandemic.
Just the other day, March 15th, Ulta’s CEO Mary Dillon released a statement declaring some stores would close early while others would remain open, but today, she announced that they would be closing all stores as of 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 until at least Tuesday, March 31. In the name of humanity, they will continue to pay their employees during the time they are closed.
Sephora has also changed their minds. Two days ago, they were closing some stores and limiting hours in others just like Ulta, but as of 5 p.m. local time on March 17, Sephora released a new statement. This time, all of the Sephora stores across the United States and Canada will close until April 3.
Benefit Cosmetics has also joined the wave. If you head to their website, you will see the black banner with white lettering across the top of the page declaring that all U.S. and Canadian Benefit Boutique & Brow Bar locations will close as of the end of the day today, Tuesday March 17th until Friday, April 3.
It’s sad that our government didn’t do enough to prevent these unnecessary closures. I won’t go into a political spiel here, but I wonder – Do you think our government did enough to prevent our country from this national emergency/disaster? Let me know in the comments below!
