Skincare Means Taking Care of Your Body, Too

When most of us think of skincare routines, or skincare in general, we think about our faces. Right? The truth is, though, our face is only a small fraction of our skin.

And get this – the skin on our body is permeable, which means it has the ability to absorb EVERYTHING that it comes into contact with!

In fact, the American Journal of Public Health did a study that concluded our bodies absorb about 64% of total contaminates in drinking water through our skin. Another study concluded that our skin has an absorption rate of 100% for fragrance ingredients. Yet another study demonstrated that our armpits and va-jay-jays have 100% absorption rate.

If those little tidbits don’t instantly spawn a mental list of everything you have put on your body, I don’t know what will!

We have to remember common sense, though. We cannot stick our finger in a glass of water and absorb it like Mork from Mork & Mindy, nor will our bodies absorb all of the water in a bathtub. If so, we would swell up like balloons! Lol

When we talk about absorption rates and our skin, it is obviously not 100% permeable. Therefore, absorption rate, when referring to skin, does not equate permeability, if you get my drift.

Are You Really Taking Care of Your Skin?

Even if you are consciously using the best skincare on your body, are you taking care of the rest of your skin as much as you focus on your face? I’ll profess: I certainly don’t.

I mean, I try. But, truth be told, I don’t always have the time to spend on my body as I do on my face.

I know, I know. I need to make the time. After all, our skin is the largest organ in/on our bodies, we are only given one body to work with, and it will indubitably reflect the care that we put into it (especially as we get older).

Enough harping from me!

I’ve found that forcing myself to make time requires me to find the right products, too. Immediately, my mind lands on Trachic Bodywear. I’m going to be entirely honest with you.

When I first heard body scrub, body mist, and body whip, I was like OK… The mojo mango part sounded scrumptious, and I loved that the products were all natural, but once you’ve tried hundreds of body scrubs, mists, and whips…Well, they all seem to blend together. I’m just sayin’

I couldn’t have been more wrong!

So, I got the Trachic products and you know I had to sniff them! (Don’t pretend you don’t do it, too!) They had me at first sniff!

Out of the three products, my ultimate fave is the body mist.

(You’ll have to forgive me. I was having a little fun with a backgrounds app.)

How to Use Body Mist Effectively

Trachic Bodywear Light Body Mist is an oil-based spritz, concocted with ingredients including sesame oil, coconut oil, rosemary oil extract, and vitamin E.

The best time to time to apply body oils and oil-based mists is immediately proceeding a shower. I already mentioned the studies that indicated that our skin will absorb contaminates in water. (It will also absorb water without contaminates).

Have you ever noticed your skin feels dryer – sometimes even dehydrated – after you bathe or shower?

The water that is all over your body after a showering will evaporate into the air quickly. It doesn’t absorb into your body. It needs a little help. By applying a body oil, moisturizer, or mist like the Trachic Bodywear Light Body Mist, you can trap that water and force your skin to drink it in.

The Trachic Bodywear light body mist is a lightweight formula, so you won’t feel greasy. And it smells like a mango dream!

If you’re just not into oil based moisturizers, I would recommend their body whip.

Again, I have the mojo mango scent, although I should mention there are other scents to choose from, and this whip has a creamy mango scent, if mangos can be creamy. Lol The body whip will impart a luxurious blend of shea butter, macadamia nut oil, and golden jojoba oil into your skin.

I love how, with both products, the scents lasts far longer than I expected it to, and it is light and airy, not overpowering.

And, let me tell you what I love even more! Right after the shower, apply the whip, then the body mist! Love!

I want to go back before the hydration part, to when you are in the shower.

The Raw Sugar Polish, the exfoliating step, was probably the product that surprised me the most. If you want your skin to slough off those dead skin cells so it as able to fully absorb moisture, you have to exfoliate!

Some body scrubs have big, coarse granules that can create micro abrasions on our skin, while others have granules that are so soft (I’m thinking Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash), they might smell dreamy and clean your skin, and they might even leav your skin feeling soft and smooth, but I always feel like something is lacking when I use them.

The scrub is a unique blend of turbinado sugar, almond oil, safflower oil, sunflower seed oil, grapeseed oil, avacado oil, apricot kernel oil, vitamin E, and more. It had me at first sniff!

The granules are more sugar-like than rock-like, and the scrub, as a whole, has become one of my favorite shower buddies! I love how the products came with a little wooden scoop, too! (See first pic)

I just totally convinced myself that it’s time to go take a shower with my Trachic Bodywear!
