Feature Brand of the Week – Sumbody & Sumtime Spa

The first thing I noticed about Sumbody’s products is the bold, bright packaging. (I stole one of their pics from their Instagram, because all of the products I have are the same color packaging, lol.)

Aren’t they spectacular looking?

The 360° Perspective

While their packaging is certainly sensational looking, it’s their products – the actual stuff inside – and their 360° perspective that differentiates their brand from others.

This is what they mean by 360° perspective:

We understand that effective, quality products that are truly natural are the sum of the contributions of many — it takes the expertise of a farmer, the science of a chemist, the experience of a successful skin care expert, the wisdom of a mother, and the insight of a celebrity.

They say without all of those aspects, even if you have 4 out of the 5, products don’t have the “whole sum.”

Sumbody has been around since the 1990’s, and for me, that says sumthing (haha, get it?) It is remarkably challenging and laborious to start up an Indie brand/small business. If it survives that long, there has to be sumthing special under the hood. (I know, I did it again. I’m amusing myself.)

So, what did I think of the products?

The goodies pictured above are just sum of their products I’ve tried (omg, did it do it again?). I honestly can’t choose a fave, because they’re all made with tender loving care, which, to me, means ingredients that are specifically chosen for particular skincare needs.

If someone held a gun to my head and said, “Choose two!” I’d have to say the dew me facialmist and rebel faceserum were my absolute faves. In fact, they’ve become holy grail products, and you can see by this pic, I’ve put a major dent in them. (Omg, I’m going to need some more fast! Anxiety attack!)

But, without that gun being held to my head, I have to admit that the sumsoap is dreamy. Made with coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, castor oil, safflower oil, avacado oil, babassu, goat milk, rosehip oil, carrot oil, and silk powder, it leaves your skin deeply cleansed and oh so soft and smooth.

The luckylips melts into your lips, and it’s dry lip season, so you know I’ve been using it like crazy!

The body scrub. Well, I’ve used a ton of scrubs! This one has the perfect sized granules. Not too big, papa bear, and not too small, baby bear. It’s made just right for us mama bears – and, of course, anyone else who loves body scrubs! The scent is lemony fresh, but not just lemon. I couldn’t put an exact pinpoint on it, but it’s definitely invigorating.

Educational Videos

I’m sorry. That was one of the most mundane subtitles. But, besides the products, the thing that I love the most about Sumbody are the lovely founder, Debbie Burnes’ educational videos. She’s gorgeous, fun, and adorable, and feeds us juicy beauty tidbits in her videos on Instagram.

I love her Instagram videos! They are always about something that most people are confused about, common skincare misconceptions, or quick tips on how to properly use natural skincare products. Quick and to the point, I highly recommend you give Sumbody a follow on Instagram, even if it’s just to catch the latest videos!

So, that sums up Sumbody, in a nutshell. (I had to throw in one last “sum.”) Have you tried their products? Do you follow them already? Talk to me in the comments below!

As always, if you end up trying their products out, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
