Feature Brand of the Week – SanRe Organics

What have I been using on my face lately?

Let’s say that I’ve been treating my face like the skin of a queen lately. (Oh, wait! I AM a Queen! Lol)

It’s no secret that I am infatuated with skincare that’s made with natural/organic ingredients. Mostly because my skin knows – and shows – the difference, but also because I know that you can’t take back what you’ve put into your skin and body once it’s there.

You never know what you’re going to get when you purchase natural/organic products. Some will break my skin out (maybe because of comedogenic ingredients or maybe because they’re not 100% organic/natural) and some smell awful. Truth – not all natural/organic products smell good, and many smell downright horrible!

So, upon first using SanRe Organic Skinfood products, I didn’t know what to expect. It didn’t take me long to fall in love, though! The aroma of each product is distinctive, but I absolutely love each unique smell! (I actually had to let my daughters sniff each one! Ha!)

Mom & Daughter

The name SanRe comes from the combination of a mom (Regina) and daughter (Sandra), who founded the brand. Originally, they started out in Europe, where they used natural and herbal lotions and remedies, then they moved to the U.S., where they broadened their knowledge and experience as hygienist, esthetician, and herbalists.

What I love most about them is that they source their ingredients from USDA certified organic farmers and businesses. Then, the ladies craft their products in small batches, test each batch, improve upon it, and finalize every single product before they make it to us. How’s that for special treatment?

Let’s talk about the products that I tried.

Habiscus Pure Gentle Exfoliating Face Cleanser

The impressive thing about these products is that they WORK! The Hibiscus Pure Gentle Exfoliating Face Cleanser is a grayish purple hue, and has tiny granules that help to exfoliate your skin. It’s thick and almost mask-like before you add water and start gently rubbing it on your skin. It replenishes your skin with necessary vitamins, hydrates, and for those of us who are trying to drink from the fountain of youth, stimulates collagen production.

Plantain Purity

Above, you see the Platain Purity (plantain and honey soothing) Mask. It’s a yucky green hue (lol) and goes on like a thick clay, but don’t let the color of it mislead you! It’s packed with all kinds of good stuff! It has active enzymes that removes dead skin cells, cleanses pores, and stimulates circulation. I love this mask more than my clay masks, because my skin felt hydrated and CLEAN after I used it, rather than dried out and clean.

Is Your Face Actually Clean?

The way I can tell if my face is actually cleansed to the pores is to swipe a cotton round with toner on it. If it’s clean, it won’t turn gray/black.

Lemon Sparkle Toner

I was quick to test this out with the Lemon Sparkle (lemon & chamomile revitalizing facial toner), which is perfect for combo/oily skin like mine. I love the packaging on this toner, because it has a spray top, so I can use it on a cotton round or just simply spray it directly on my face to rehydrate my skin. And, my face WAS clean – the cotton round was still nearly white, surprise, surprise!

Hemp Revival

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Hemp Revival (hemp, chia, and sea-buckthorn serum, center front in first pic)! It’s supposed to aid in cell regeneration and increase elasticity in your skin, basically fight the aging process. A lil goes a long way with this serum! And I appreciate how it absorbs fairly nicely into the skin. It’s definitely on the oily side, but didn’t cause my sensitive skin to break out.

Radiant Glow

Finally, for those of us who want our skin to look radiant and youthful once we’ve thoroughly cleaned it – the Radiant Glow (above). It’s a tinted facial moisturizer that comes in different shades. Obviously, mine is in the shade light. A lil goes a long way with this one, too.

It’s super hydrating, and while it’s not going to cover your extreme dark spots and lots of red tone, it is a nice light coverage moisturizer that had my skin looking shiny. Those who have oily skin may not like this tinted moisturizer, because it does have a shiny effect, but those with dryer skin or those fighting aging issues will absolutely love it!

I’m so happy to have these products as part of my brigade against my skin issues, and I can’t wait to try more of their organic skincare line!
